Things that make you go, "Awww..."

On the Gold Coast yesterday, a little Jack Russell named Betty Boo drowned, and was resuscitated by being given "mouth-to-snout". Awww. Currumbin Surf Life Saving director Dave Smith: you legend!

On a whim while grocery shopping a few weeks ago, I bought a packet of Naturally Good's vegan and gluten-free mud cake mix. Keeping it vegan meant using a substitute rather than eggs, so I took it as an excuse finally to try out Orgran's No Egg mix. And I picked up a couple of blocks of fairtrade Cocolo 70% dark chocolate (Note: "May contain traces of nuts and milk").



This afternoon it took about five minutes to combine the No Egg and the cake mix and water; I baked it for the required fifty minutes, let it cool in the pan, then melted some chocolate and mixed in some soy milk to ice it.

I approve of the very, very chocolatey results, as does Jabba.



Salacious crumbs indeed. Just the thing for when young Jedi knights drop in unexpectedly.
