Cupcakes and Dust (September Sydney Vegan Bake Sale)

After taking a break in August, the Sydney Vegan Bake Sale was on again at Newtown DIY Markets yesterday. An encore of Wednesday's red dust storm didn't deter us from setting up our sugary wares, nor the good vegan citizens of Sydney from turning up to buy some treats in support of Donkey Welfare with Heart. Admittedly, the dust and wind meant that our umbrella needed to stay folded down, and the food safely sealed up in plastic containers rather than on display; but thanks to all the eager vegans, there's $1000 about to make its way to Donkey Welfare.

Again, there was an amazing array of food: melting moments in chocolate, passionfruit, and coffee flavours; caramel slice; lemon vegan cheesecake; cookies 'n' cream and banana split cupcakes; two kinds of rich chocolate cupcakes; coconut date balls; lemon poppyseed muffins; tiramisu, Black Forest and hazelnut mousse cupcakes; little donkey biscuits in gingerbread and chocolate, and some gingerbread sandwiches; caramel mud cake; chocolate and coconut cake; macadamia cookies; darling mini chocolate crackles; poppyseed and aniseed biscotti; banana bread; Anzac biscuits; black bean and walnut brownies; chocolate cupcakes with raspberry icing, some vanilla with lemon, and a herd of mini vanilla with lemon or raspberry icing. Does that cover everything? I think that's everything. Oh! — and fairy bread!

Thanks! You'll have to baker something for us if you're ever passing through Sydney at the right time.
