There was that time about two weeks ago when I baked the Lemon Delicious Slice from the Melinda's range; they're all gluten-free, but only some are vegan, and in this instance that involved the use of No-Egg to make up the mix. It was rather tasty, but I have come to realise what an insatiable glutton I am when it comes to lemon flavouring; I added lemon juice on top of what was in the packet mix, and yet I still wished the result had been stronger.

There was a get-together at Basil Pizza, where I chowed on the sublime vegan pepperoni pizza, and took home a slab of the custardy vanilla slice. Then we came back later that week for breakfast at Naked Espresso.

For a birthday in the family, I tried my hand at putting some mango and macadamia flavours into cupcake form; definitely needs more work, but I may be onto something.

Then a few days ago, it was off to Melbourne to help a dear friend celebrate. Since it was only a flying visit, I didn't really research or plan or plot any expeditions to vegan landmarks. Somehow, though, I just stumbled upon one of them by happy accident. Fritz Gelato (I was at the Bridge Road shop) even mention on the wall by the counter that all their sorbets are vegan (Oh, they use the v-word!) — so I seized the opportunity for a scoop each of raspberry and peach. Oh, and as well as being vegan, it might be the best sorbet I've ever had. By a mile, even.
