As with the cupcakes for the picnic, I piped the icing on as little rosettes, rather than in swirls. I presume that someone who knew the first thing about cake decorating would be able to tell me the name for this... Anyone? ... Anyone?

Party cupcakes
For a friend's birthday gathering yesterday evening: two dozen mini vanilla cupcakes (VCTOTW) with chocolate buttercream icing. Had to do these in two batches... as you can see, one batch (the first one) was slightly overcooked. They still were devoured fairly quickly — phew!
